This website brings together work made over the last fifteen years. It is not an exhibition, nor is it intended as an archive. It is closer to a repository — a place to gather things that have been made, imagined, returned to, or left unresolved.

Some of the work exists as drawings, some as images, and some remains closer to an idea for something that might one day be made. Putting it here allows these different states to coexist without requiring them to belong to a particular moment or project.

I have arranged the work loosely across three sections. The distinctions are useful rather than absolute. Things cross between them, recur in altered forms, or find themselves somewhere they were not originally intended to be.

01 THRESHOLD

Architecture appears here less as a description of place than as a condition of being within it. Structures accumulate, fold and open; interiors assume the character of bodies, while bodies acquire the weight and permanence of structures. At times the distinction between portrait, landscape and abstraction becomes difficult to sustain.

These are not records of particular places. They approach place obliquely — through occupation, reflection, scale and the peculiar intimacy of things that contain us. What emerges is less an architecture to be recognised than a sense of dwelling: forms understood through their capacity to hold, shelter, expose or remember.

02 FORM

Objects arrive already carrying histories, associations and uses. Here they are detached from those certainties and returned to circulation: found, altered, combined with painted forms and placed into provisional arrangements.

Constructed entirely on screen, these works occupy an uncertain position between image and object. Materials can behave impossibly; scale remains negotiable; surfaces pass through one another and things meet that might never withstand the encounter in physical space. The digital becomes a place of rehearsal — somewhere an object can exist before, or perhaps instead of, becoming material.

What results is neither quite sculpture nor its representation, but a proposition: an arrangement awaiting the possibility of a body.

03 PSYCHE

These drawings begin without the obligation to explain themselves. Images accumulate slowly, sometimes over long periods, until an internal logic begins to assert itself. Their relationships are associative but not illustrative; personal without requiring biography.

Rendered principally in graphite, their improbable situations are given an almost unreasonable degree of attention. The absurd is treated as ordinary fact. Where silver leaf appears, the image becomes contingent on movement: forms disappear and return as the position of the viewer changes.

Nothing here asks to be resolved. The drawings remain closer to propositions, recollections or incidents whose circumstances have been misplaced — precise in their appearance, less certain in their meaning.

Across these different bodies of work, certain things persist. Bodies become structures; structures acquire personalities; objects behave as images and images begin to suggest objects. Places are remembered without necessarily having existed.

Perhaps what connects them is less a subject than a way of looking — an interest in the point at which something familiar becomes difficult to place. The work tends to remain there for a while, between recognition and uncertainty, allowing one thing to become another without quite completing the transformation.

These sections are therefore not separate territories so much as different points of entry. Taken together, they describe a world whose boundaries remain deliberately unstable: between the physical and the imagined, the inhabited and the remembered, the thing itself and the image we carry of it.
